Art is my driving force, my driving energy to stay awake in life and that’s why I love it apart from the fact that I find imagination, beauty and freedom in it. Abstract art is truly pure creative freedom.
I see my works as an unreal reinterpretation of my surrounding world. I use an accumulation of linear and 2D- cromatic digressions to turn it into an abstract or (sometimes) ambiguous impression. Anything two-dimensional simplifies image; within this plastic reality is where relations emerge and grow stronger by keeping the chromatic and shapes stresses. My present and past environment is remade and somehow reborn under my artistic point of view by sorting the elements in so-called ‘dances’ of composition or decomposition so the viewer is invited to reflect on the abstract image. I let contrast what every piece of work means to me with the audience’s subconscious suggestions. This way new other worlds pop up, as many as viewers of my work.
I am autodidact and globetrotter under endless renovation with a technical engineering background. As I’ve lived in several European countries influence of those locations and European avant-gardes coexist in my work.
My inspiration or inception for any new work usually comes from semantics turning into a different sort of language: visual/symbolic. Both languages are codes to be translated and interpreted by the receiver (the audience). This way they supply new subjective meanings linked to their own experiences (private views).
When tackling a new project I firstly choose the most suitable media to accurately convey the initial idea (either canvas, board or paper). I do not restrict myself only to pure techniques like painting, printmaking or drawing. On the contrary I enjoy mixed media too by combining pencil, charcoal or ink drawing/sketching with paint (mostly acrylic) – depending on the topic.
To be honest I tend to think that my type of art shall evolve towards a higher hybridation of media.
